Ever since the TAPS Team, (Trans Atlantic Paranormal Society) visited Wicklow’s Historic Gaol and broadcast their investigation on Ghosthunters International television programme, Wicklow Gaol has been regarded as “one of the most haunted places in Ireland” and visited by paranormal teams and enthusiasts from around the world.

Whether you follow Paranormal Programmes on TV, are simply curious about the paranormal or are a sceptic who wants to see for yourself, Wicklow’s Historic Gaol’s overnight ghosthunt experience is the perfect way to satisfy your natural curiosity about the paranormal. The Wicklow Gaol Ghosthunt  is a six hour, overnight paranormal experience working with Angie, Keith, Tim and members of The Irish Ghosthunters team as paranormal investigators to discover evidence of those spirits who wander the corridors and cells of Wicklow’s Historic Gaol. The experience, which includes tea, coffee and refreshments through the night begins at 9pm through to 3am the next morning. The night is divided into a number of different sessions led by members of the IGH team. Our partnership with the IGH team offers you two different ghosthunt experiences:

·         For those interested in a ghosthunt experience that includes psychic and mediumistic communication with the poor souls that wander the corridors of Wicklow Gaol, the IGH team offer a night including Angie, the team’s psychic medium with her husband Keith, the team’s parapsychologist.

·         For those more interested in the scientific and technical aspects of ghosthunting the IGH team offers a night during which IGH team founder and technical expert Tim Kelly features the extensive range of technical equipment in the IGH toolbox.

Depending on which ghosthunt experience you choose your night may include the following sessions:

The Physical – Angie Freeland’s reputation as a medium is that of a physical medium. She is one of the best physical mediums in her field. Things literally move around her! Angie will lead you through an experience which will include her well known demonstration of table tipping. Harnessing the energy of those around her, through just your fingertips, and  Angie’s strong connection with those spirits present, tables move, often violently. This is a phenomenon that you simply have to witness for yourself to believe. Hardened sceptics have left the gaol admitting they simply cannot explain what they have witnessed.

The Senses -  Keith Freeland works with you to understand and heighten your five senses, seeing, hearing, feeling, taste and smell,  taking you on a tour of individual cells in the pitch black. Keith will always say “most of the time nothing happens” but the spirits of Wicklow Gaol rarely let us down. Individuals regularly leave the gaol with stories of bumps and noises, flashes of light, footsteps, shadows and the occasional full manifestation which has had people hastily leaving the cell!

The Technology – Tim Kelly, whose nickname within the Irish Ghosthunters team is “Inspector Gadget” will conduct a paranormal session in different areas of the gaol where he will demonstrate and use a range of technical equipment to detect the presence of energy residue around which may be as a result of the movement of spirits through the gaol. Tim uses standard paranormal equipment such as the K2 EMF meter, the Trifield meter or FLIR thermal imaging camera very familiar to those interested in the paranormal world to the most up to date technology only just released onto the paranormal market such as the PX Box which reputedly enables spirits to literally speak to you.

The Control Room – Irish Ghosthunters Team pull out all the stops and set up their control room in the gaol with full infrared webcam multiscreen and remote control surveillance throughout the gaol.  A member of the Irish Ghosthunters Team will be on hand to guide you through how they monitor areas under surveillance during a live investigation and what to look out for. You will literally be able to watch other groups in the dungeon and other areas of the gaol as they seek evidence of ghostly presences.  

Many hundreds have attended this experience, many coming back time and time again, some of whom have gone on to form and join paranormal investigation teams for themselves. The Wicklow Gaol Ghosthunt is an authentic paranormal experience not to be missed.

Participants will be asked to sign a personal disclaimer before the night begins declaring that there is no medical or psychological reason why they may not be able to attend the experience and that they are over 18 years of age.
